Broady Piano Studio

About the Teacher

Hi! My name is Sarah Broady and I have been teaching piano lessons for 25 years. I began teaching in college at Belmont University where I studied Piano Pedagogy. I have worked with various music studios in college and as a young adult but have since started my own piano studio, welcoming students of all ages to learn (or relearn) the art of playing the piano in my home. I teach specific techniques regarding practicing, and utilizing arm weight and posture to help my students achieve their goals for lessons. Some students are children just starting out with parents eager to give their children a rounded education in all areas including the arts as well as sports. Others are older adults who abandoned piano lessons at a young age and had a strong desire to return to the piano. I have taught children as young as four and adults into their 60’s and everywhere in between.

I am a classically trained pianist and I teach classical and modern music through sight-reading and technique. I have worked with students on contest pieces and am proud to say they received a gold rating for their performances. Awards such as these are a combination of the teaching techniques I employ along with the hard work and dedication of the students to practice. Unfortunately, I do not possess the gift of playing by ear like my husband and son, so I am not equipped to teach jazz styles such as improvisation. If that is your desire, I would encourage finding a teacher that is able to accommodate those specific goals.

If you are interested in lessons, please contact me to set up a consultation. I would love to work with you or your child!

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.
